Cheryl Besenjak and her business partner Kevin Westing have been growing greens together since 2013. They bring a love of plants, fish, the environment, sustainability, and belief that alternative growing methods are the future of farming food.
In their greenhouse location at Lake Forest Country Day School, they grow microgreens for their business Grow Well Farms. And, they use aquaponics systems to demonstrate the symbiotic relationship of raising fish and growing plants with the nutrient water the fish provide.
Through their non-profit Growing Healthy People, Cheryl and Kevin have brought alternative systems and education to school greenhouses in the community.
